Colorful and Dark, Old but Alive: Venice

A couple of days ago I had a small chat with one of my best friends. She was talking about her upcoming travel and one of the destinations was Venice, Italy!

I was super excited for her but funnily, she wasn’t. Because Venice has been visited heavily by tourists, which means she may not enjoy the city as much as she wanted to. We try to go to places off-season but as a tourist who visited Venice in different seasons, Venice always has too many visitors for a small island like itself.

I should also say for prospective tourists of this city: Venice is not the most cheapest. From hotel prices to souvenirs, you will find it a bit more expensive (especially if you visit Napoli or Roma).

But does it mean that one should feel reluctant for her trip to Venice? Absolutely not! First of all, when you start your journey of Venice by walking through narrow streets or passing deserted canals, you will feel the atmosphere of a life that was lived hundreds of years ago.

*Italians do many great things, but for me the greatest one is to protect their historical places and anything italian!*
